God is {WITH US}

This is part my blogging series "Challenge Filled February"
I'll be blogging every day about who God is
To start from the beginning click HERE

12 Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” 14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” 15 Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” 17 And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.”
Exodus 33:12-17

Timer Set....GO!

I love this conversation between God and Moses because you see into Moses' heart just a little bit more. There is a little bit of doubt, he's supposed to be the big man on campus, leading these people, but he's unsure of himself here. So he takes his insecurity to God.

"If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so that I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people."

This morning my church finished a study on God's goodness and our speaker started off this morning by asking us:
"How do you know God loves you?"

People responded by saying,
"He helps me when I need Him"

"I'm alive today"

"Because of the communion sacraments
and the work it represents on the cross"

"Because of his beautiful creation that I get to witness every day:
snow, sunsets, & stars"

We can lose our identity in this crazy messed up world.
We can begin to doubt, like those who go before us.
We might doubt that we are loved

and that God is WITH US.

But let us be like Moses today, and when those doubts creep in, take them to God.
And hear him say:
"I will do the very thing you asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name."
